Collection and Exhibits:
The Air Force Flight Test Museum features an extensive collection of aircraft and artifacts that chronicle the evolution of flight testing. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing groundbreaking test flights, technological milestones, and the stories of the pilots and engineers who played pivotal roles in advancing aerospace science. The collection includes a variety of aircraft, from early experimental models to modern jets, each representing a chapter in the history of aviation innovation.
Access and Future Plans:
Currently, the Air Force Flight Test Museum is situated within the secure perimeter of Edwards AFB, requiring base access for visitors. To enhance public accessibility and inspire future generations, plans are underway to relocate the museum outside the base gates. This new facility will not only preserve the rich history of the Antelope Valley but also serve as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) center, aiming to educate and engage the community.
The Air Force Flight Test Museum stands as a testament to the pioneering spirit of aviation and continues to inspire and educate visitors about the past, present, and future of flight testing and aerospace innovation.
Air Force Flight Test Museum will be located from 2027outside the West Gate and be accessible to the public.
