The Dare County Regional Airport Museum is located in the west end of the airport terminal building.
Beginning in mid-November 2024, a new rotating exhibit will be on display, that will highlight the groundbreaking contributions of Francis Rogallo, an American aeronautical engineer who is best known for inventing the Rogallo wing, a flexible airfoil that became the precursor to modern hang gliders and paragliders. During the late 1930’s and early 1940’s, Dare County was served by a small privately owned airport at Skyco on Roanoke Island.
