Exhibits and Attractions:
- Aircraft Displays: Fighter World houses over 17 historic aircraft and replicas. Visitors can walk around, touch, and view these aircraft up close. Notably, the museum allows guests to sit in the cockpits of a Mirage jet fighter and a Macchi jet trainer, providing a unique insight into the pilot’s perspective.
- Norm Forrester Collection: Inside the main hangar, you’ll discover the Norm Forrester Collection, one of Australia’s most extensive displays of hand-built model aircraft. This exhibition highlights the development of military aviation over the past 100 years, with a regional focus on the Newcastle, Hunter, and New England areas.
- Observation Deck: The museum features an observation deck where visitors can watch some of the world’s most advanced aircraft take off and land at the adjacent RAAF Base Williamtown.
