- Aircraft Collection: The Hinkler Hall of Aviation houses several significant aircraft, including:
- A reconstructed glider from Hinkler’s youth.
- Hinkler’s original Avro Baby, in which he made record-breaking flights.
- Replicas of the Avro Avian and Hinkler Ibis.
- A reconstructed de Havilland Puss Moth.
- Interactive Displays: Visitors can engage with various interactive exhibits, such as flight simulators and movie theatrettes, providing insights into Hinkler’s adventures and the evolution of aviation.
- Hinkler House “Mon Repos”: Adjacent to the Hinkler Hall of Aviation is Hinkler’s relocated English home, meticulously restored to offer a glimpse into his personal life and times.
Bert Hinkler designed and built early aircraft before being the first person to fly solo from England to Australia, and the first person to fly solo across the Southern Atlantic Ocean.
The Hinkler Hall of Aviation also has on display a small wooden piece of an early Hinkler glider that was carried on board the Space Shuttle Challenger and recovered after its breakup in 1986.
