Museo Aeroespacial Colombiano

The Museo Aeroespacial Colombiano, or Colombian Aerospace Museum, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing Colombia’s rich aviation history. Established in 1968, the museum has undergone several relocations, with its current premises inaugurated in November 2017 near Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, adjacent to the Parque Jaime Duque.

Visitors can explore an extensive collection of aircraft and aviation artifacts that chronicle the evolution of both military and civil aviation in Colombia. Notable aircraft on display include:

  • Junkers Ju 52/3m: This historic aircraft served as Colombia’s first presidential plane from 1933 to 1950.
  • Douglas C-54 Skymaster: Another presidential aircraft, it was in service from 1954 to 1971.
  • Republic P-47 Thunderbolt: A World War II-era fighter aircraft.
  • Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star: One of the early jet trainers used by the Colombian Air Force.
  • North American T-6 Texan: A renowned trainer aircraft.

The Museo Aeroespacial Colombiano also features interactive exhibits, historical artifacts, and detailed information about Colombia’s aviation milestones.
