Caproni Campini N-1 MM487 Italian Air Force | Ruud Boots
The Campini CC1 was one of the world’s first jet aircraft, making its inaugural flight in August 1940. It is really a hybrid, using a traditional piston engine, combined with a compressor, combustion chambers and exhaust system, the power coming from an afterburner. The only complete example surviving in the world today.
