Fiat G-55 Centauro 5 Italian Air Force | Ruud Boots
Unfortunately all Fiat G-55s were destroyed during WWII. In order to fill this important gap in the Italian Air Force Museum collection, a huge project was undertaken in the 1980s to convert the remnants of a G-59-2A (MM53265) into a G-55. Completed by the Italian AF, Alenia Spazio, GAVS Turin, Revelli Metallik and the Ministry of Universities and Scientific Research. Preserved in the colours of the ANR belonging to the ‘Montefusco-Bonet’ Squadron.
