As of June 2023, the Museum of the Forgotten Warriors has been closed due to property issues. The museum resides on the Spear property, and there have been challenges in legally separating its four acres from the rest of the property. The collection is managed by a board of directors as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity and is not the property of the Spear family. The board is actively working to resolve these issues to reopen the museum to the public.
Prior to its closure, the Museum of the Forgotten Warriors featured an extensive collection of military artifacts, including uniforms, photographs, flags, badges, and more, representing various conflicts from the Civil War to the present. The museum also housed a library with over 4,200 books and binders on military history.
For the most current information on the museum’s status and potential reopening, it is advisable to contact them directly or visit their official website.
