Oriskany Village Museum main storys is of the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany CV-CVA 34, she was originally built for service in World War II. Although launched in the Spring of 1945, the ship wasn’t commissioned until 1950 for the Korean War. Oriskany saw service again during the Vietnam War and was decommissioned for the last time in 1976. In 2006, the vessel became an artificial reef off the coast of Pensacola, FL.
