Bristol Beaufighter TF.10 RD253 RAF
This Beaufighter was built in October 1944 at Old Mixon, Weston-super-Mare and delivered to No. 19 MU at St. Athan. In March 1945 was ferried to Portugal, there become BF-13 and served by Esquadrilha B of the Forcas Aereas da Armada (B Squadron of the Navy Air Forces) at Portela de Sacavem airbase in Lisbon. There served for maritime patrol duties and in 1949 was withdrawn and around 1950 parked Lisbon Technical Institute. In 1965 was bought back to UK, restored using components from TT.10 RD867 recovered from RAF Takali, Malta and since 1972 displayed at RAF Museum Hendon in “invasion” RAF scheme. | Rob Vogelaar
