The Wright Brothers National Memorial, located in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, commemorates the first successful, sustained, powered flights by Wilbur and Orville Wright on December 17, 1903. The site features a monument honoring their achievement, as well as paths outlining the routes of their initial flights near a reproduction hangar.

There are 2 replicas on display. A 1902 glider built in 1934 under the direction of Orville Wright, and a very authentic looking 1903 Flyer. The museum normally displays a replica of the wind tunnel, as well as several artifacts from the Wrights’ shop.
Visitors can explore a variety of exhibits that detail the Wright brothers’ journey, including the environment of the early 1900s Outer Banks, the development of Wright aircraft replicas, and displays donated by NASA highlighting the future of aviation.
