In
the MacRobertson Trophy Air Race (London - Melbourne Air Race) 1934, the
XB-AKM flew as NX14307 tail-number 46 with Miss J. Cochran and W.
Smith Pratt (USA). Withdrew with malfunctioning flaps, after landing
damage at Bucharest at the first day of the air race October 20, 1934.
The
Granville R-6H was acquired by Fransisco Sarabia Tinoco and renamed El
Conquistador del Cielo with registration XB-AKM. He made a record
breaking flight from Mexico City to Whashington D.C. but crashed on the
return flight.
