     • Bücker Bü 131 Jungmann: A German biplane trainer aircraft used before and during World War II.

   • The Luftfahrtmuseum Wernigerode explores the history of German military aviation, from the early years of flight in the First World War to the significant developments during World War II and the Cold War.
   • Exhibits include wartime aircraft, such as German fighter planes and bombers from WWII, alongside details about the development of German aviation technology during the 20th century.
   • The East German era is also covered, with displays of aircraft used by the Nationale Volksarmee (National People’s Army) during the Cold War, including MiG aircraft and Soviet-designed planes.

   • Special emphasis is placed on how aviation influenced the development of Wernigerode and the surrounding areas.

The Luftfahrtmuseum Wernigerode shows 50 restored aircraft and helicopters in four halls on an area of approx. 6000 square metres. Also on display are parts, instruments and equipment including ejection seats, cockpits and navigation instruments, pilot equipment, engines and aircraft models from various countries. The exhibition focuses mainly on aviation after 1945, but the technical section also includes restored automobiles. In addition to large exhibits, cutaway models and functional explanations explain flying. A total of around 1000 exhibits are presented.

In addition, the complete and restored telephone system of Wernigerode from 1928 is shown in the cellar.
