The Çanakkale Naval Museum (Çanakkale Deniz Müzesi) complex combines indoor exhibition halls with an open-air display area and several historic vessels. Its most famous attraction is the minelayer Nusret (TCG Nusret), the ship that laid the mines which played a decisive role in stopping the Allied fleet in 1915. Visitors can board the ship and explore restored compartments to understand daily naval life at the time.
Inside the galleries, you’ll find:
- Naval weapons, torpedoes, and artillery
- War relics, uniforms, and medals
- Ship models and maritime equipment
- Personal belongings of soldiers and commanders
- Photographs and documents from the Gallipoli Campaign
