The Candler Field Museum, located in Williamson, Georgia, was established in 2005 with the mission to recreate the original Atlanta airport, known as Candler Field, as it appeared in the 1920s and 1930s. The museum featured a collection of vintage aircraft, vehicles, and aviation memorabilia from that era. Notable aircraft included a 1917 Curtiss JN-4, a 1928 Curtiss Robin, and a 1940 Douglas DC-3A.
In February 2021, the Candler Field Museum was dissolved. However, the Peach State Aerodrome, where the museum was located, continues to operate. The aerodrome is home to the Barnstormer’s Grill restaurant and hosts various aviation events throughout the year.
