The Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum, formerly known as the Kakamigahara Aerospace Science Museum, is a premier aviation and space museum located in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1996, the museum underwent extensive renovations and reopened in 2018, offering visitors an expanded exhibition area of approximately 9,400 square meters.

Exhibits and Attractions
The Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum boasts an impressive collection of 43 aircraft, including 34 actual planes and 9 full-scale models, making it the largest display of real aircraft in Japan.
Highlights of the collection include:
- Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien: The only surviving example of this World War II-era fighter aircraft, meticulously restored to showcase its historical significance.
- NAMC YS-11: A domestically produced turboprop airliner that played a significant role in Japan’s post-war aviation industry.
- ShinMeiwa US-1A: A renowned amphibious aircraft designed for search and rescue missions.
In addition to aircraft, the Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum features a comprehensive space exploration area. Visitors can explore a full-scale model of the Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” from the International Space Station (ISS) and view a replica of the asteroid explorer “Hayabusa 2.”
