Ilyushin Il-2m3 Shturmovik 12438/38 Czechoslovakian Air Force
This Shturmovik served at the wars end by 3. Czechoslovak Combat Air Regiment. During the Ostrava Operation was on 20 April 1945 hit by AA-gunfire and with crew pilot Lt. Karol Novotny and gunner Sgt. Ladislav Leng force landed between front lines. From there was later transported back to the unit. After the war served by Czechoslovakia Air Force until end of 1948 and then donated to National Technical Museum. In 1966 was found at Kbely and began restorated from very damaged condition wreck. In 2005-06 was completly repaired and provided with authentic combat colours. | Phil Glover
