History Museo Aeronáutico Coronel (Aviador) Jaime Meregalli
The museum’s origins trace back to 1941 when Colonel Meregalli began displaying aviation memorabilia at the Capitan Boiso Lanza Air Base. Over the years, the collection expanded, leading to the official establishment of the museum in 1954. Throughout its history, the museum has undergone several relocations, including moves to Air Base No. 1 in Carrasco and the Cilindro Municipal in Montevideo. In 2013, it found its current home adjacent to Carrasco International Airport.
