The National Museum of the United States Navy located on the historic Washington Navy Yard will transition into a Museum Events Center Jan. 2. Effective that day, visitation will be available by appointment only for scheduled educational programming, events, private tours, and group visits, including honor flights.

This is part of the effort to design and build a new National Museum of the U.S. Navy, as announced formally by Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro Oct. 18. Visitors will need to request passes at the Navy Yard’s Visitor Control Center. Find specific instructions here.
