Hawker Tempest TT.V NV778 RAF
Post-war target-towing variant of the Tempest V with high-vis striped undersides (standard target tug colours at the time) held at the RAF Museum, Hendon. The wires attached to the tailplanes are not there to hold up the aircraft but were fitted to target tugs to prevent the towing cable from fouling the elevators or rudder in flight. | Rob Vogelaar
