Key Features of Hooton Park Trust:

  1. Historic Hangars:
    • The site is home to three Grade II* listed Belfast truss hangars, built in 1917 for the Royal Flying Corps during World War I.
    • These hangars are rare survivors of their kind and are architecturally significant for their timber-framed construction.
  2. Aviation History:
    • Hooton Park was once an operational airfield, initially serving military purposes in WWI, then as an RAF base during WWII, and later supporting private and civil aviation.
    • The Trust works to preserve and share the site’s rich aviation heritage through its projects and events.
