It focuses on two primary themes: the American military presence during World War II and the region&#8217;s Viking history. The museum highlights the role of the <strong>Bluie West One airbase<\/strong>, which operated from 1941 to 1958 as a critical link in the Allied supply chain. There are two parts. One concerns the Vikings. It makes a good introduction to the history of the area so try to see that at the beginning of your journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second part concerns the \u201cBluie West One\u201d base itself. The panels give a great history of the place. The pictures are a fascinating time capsule of a place and era.
