class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress of The Collings Foundation crashed Wednesday morning at the Bradley International Airport in Windsor Lock, Connecticut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FAA confirmed that the vintage aircraft crashed at the end of Runway 6 during an attempted landing at 10 a.m. <span lang=\"en-US\">Officials reported that there were ten passengers and three crew members on board. Six people were taken to a local hospital.<br>\nSeven occupants were killed and the fate of the remaining six is unknown. Also three people on the ground were injured<\/span>, in the maintenance\/de-icing area where the Boeing B-17 ended up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pilot asked to return to the airport, according to FAA air traffic control audio recorded by the website LiveATC.net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\">Shortly after takeoff, the pilot told air traffic control: \u201cN93012 would like to return to the field.\u201d<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\">\u201cWhat is the reason for coming back?\u201d the controller asked.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\">\u201cYou got No. 4 engine. We\u2019d like to return, and blow it out,\u201d another pilot in the aircraft said.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\">A pilot said he needed to land immediately, and the control tower diverted other jets that were about to land, the recording indicates.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The aircraft crashed as it attempted to land on runway 06.
