One of its standout attractions is its connection to <strong>Bernard H. He became world famous for designing a home-built airplane powered by an automobile engine. He was a self-taught engineer who sold airplane building plans and built twenty planes himself. The <strong>Model \u201cT\u201d Sky Scout<\/strong> was\u00a0added to our <strong>Pietenpol Collection<\/strong> at\u00a0the <strong>Fillmore County History Center<\/strong> in 1990. On December 27, 2006, another of the late Bernard Pietenpol\u2019s airplanes made its \u201cfinal landing\u201d in Fountain. This aircraft, an <strong>Air Camper<\/strong>, was built in 1947.
